With Eat Local Week on the near horizon, one way we prepare is by gathering a collection of original recipes that highlight local ingredients. The recipe contest is now underway and submissions are due by September 4. To participate, submit an original recipe or revamp a classic using local ingredients. Where possible, note the farm where the ingredients are sourced.
Recipes will be posted at on our website for voting and to serve as a resource for those taking the Eat Local Challenge. The top ten recipes will be published in Catalyst Magazine with a short bio of the creator. The grand prize is a Blendtec Blender (manufactured right here in Utah). The runners up win fantastic farmers market gift baskets. Winners will be announced at the Harmons Rooftop Party on September 17.
To ensure your chance at winning all this fame and fortune, make sure to check out the submission details to see the rules.
So get your gastronomical juices flowing, channel the chef within and bring your best to the table. With the harvest in full swing, there are so many local ingredients to support your creative endeavors. We can’t wait to be inspired by you.
